Rainbow Wahine sweep series vs. Bulldogs

Hawaii swept its three-game softball series against Louisiana Tech yesterday with an 8-1 victory over the Bulldogs in Ruston, La.

Justine Smethurst fired a four-hitter and Kaulana Gould had three hits to lead the Rainbow Wahine (17-13, 3-0 Western Athletic Conference).

The Lady Techsters dropped to 7-17 and 0-3.

Sea Warriors sweep Wildcats in series opener

Hawaii Pacific swept a baseball doubleheader against Central Washington yesterday on the Wildcats' campus.

The Sea Warriors won 6-5 and 3-1 with complete games from Mario Ramirez and Brandon Muser.

HPU's Michael Kealoha hit a two-run homer in the opener and had a two-run single and an RBI double in the second game.

The series continues with another doubleheader today.

Wahine beat Spartans in water polo

No. 5 Hawaii beat San Jose State 12-8 yesterday in a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation water polo match at the Duke Kahanamoku Aquatic Complex.

Hawaii improved to 10-6 overall and 5-2 in the MPSF.

Iefke Van Belkum, Kelly Mason, Amy Logan and Lisa Van Raalte each scored twice for the Rainbow Wahine.

HYSA All-Star games today at soccer park

The Hawaii Youth Soccer Association Class of 2006 All-Star matches are today at the Waipio Peninsula Soccer Park Stadium.

Featuring this year's senior standouts from all islands, the girls match starts at 5:30 p.m. followed by the boys match at 7:30. Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for students.
