David Dyas of Kimo and Kawika's Mobile Smoke Wagon, tended to racks of baby back ribs, prime rib and whole chickens. The event featured free trolley tours, food booths, games, crafts and live entertainment in celebration of the Kaimuki community, the 50th anniversary of Chaminade and the 160th anniversary of Saint Louis School.

Tony Roma's closes its Kahala restaurant

Tony Roma's Kahala closed yesterday after 20 years at 4230 Waialae Ave. Kevin Lyons, left, holding baby Kassidy, with wife Vanessa and kids Kailee and Karissa at the table, had just finished enjoying a last dinner at the restaurant where Vanessa worked in 1992 and they have been coming to eat for 15 years. A Chinese eatery will take its place. Tony Roma's continues to operate restaurants in Waikiki and Aiea, plus an Express location at Ala Moana Center.

STATE YOUTH LEGISLATURE CONVENES

The opening session of the 57th Hawaii State Youth Legislature Program was held yesterday at the state Capitol House Chambers. Mariecel Lagpacan, representing the Leeward delegation, introduced a Senate resolution.
