Seven Up
Bound by a love of art, the women of Seven formed their group in 2003 to forward the exposure of painting and drawing on the local art scene.
All pals from college days at the University of Hawaii, Nadine Ferraro, Kloe Kang, Karen Lee, Birgitta Leitner, Katherine Love, Mary Mitsuda and Yida Wang incorporated their varied styles to present "Seven Up" at the Academy Art Center as a contribution to that cause.
The exhibit features paintings, drawings and also collage, in works both large and small in scale. Also included in the show are pieces that reflect the artists' working processes, such as sketches, working drawings, photo and video records and maquettes.
"Seven Up" runs through April 9 at the Academy Art Center, 1111 Victoria St. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesdays to Saturdays and 1 to 5 p.m. Sundays. Admission is free. Call 532-8741.
