Hawaiian Air jumps
In a mixed week for local stocks, Hawaiian Airlines' corporate parent led the way with a 12.2 percent increase to close yesterday at $5.79.
Hawaiian Holdings Inc. reported this week that it posted a bigger loss in 2005, $12.4 million, than it did in 2004, when it lost $7.3 million.
Barnwell Industries Inc. trailed the Bloomberg Honolulu Star-Bulletin stock index this week, falling 5.9 percent to close at $22.35. Maui Land & Pineapple Co. fell 3.45 percent to close at $36.40.
The Bloomberg / Star-Bulletin Index is a price-weighted index designed to measure the performance of Hawaii-based companies. The index was developed with a base value of 100 as of December 31, 1999. A chart of the index which shows the weekly performance of its members is published weekly in the Honolulu Star-Bulletin.
