Iolani rallies for 7 runs in the top of the seventh

Iolani blew open a pitching duel by scoring seven runs in the seventh inning to beat Saint Louis 7-1 yesterday in an Interscholastic Association of Honolulu game at Ala Wai Field.

Iolani sent 11 hitters to the plate in the telling inning, rapping out four hits.

Chris Johnson drove in three runs on a home run before closing out Saint Louis in the bottom of the inning. Johnson pitched the complete game for Iolani, allowing only four hits and a single run.

Russell Doi drove in the go-ahead run from first base with a line drive to center field in the bottom of the sixth as the Owls beat the Monarchs.

Damien's comeback hopes in the top of the seventh were dashed as three runners were left stranded when Scotty Taleasea flied out to third to end the game.
