Mera, Hawaiian rise
Mera Pharmaceuticals Inc. and
Hawaiian Holdings Inc. were the top-performing stocks in the Bloomberg Honolulu Star-Bulletin stock index this week, with gains of 3.5 percent and 3.4 percent, respectively.
Mera's gain left the penny stock's price at 1.4 cents. Year to date, it is down more than 9 percent.
Hawaiian Holdings, parent company of Hawaiian Airlines, closed at $5.16 yesterday. The stock has climbed more than 29 percent year to date, but is down 26 percent over the last 12 months.
The Bloomberg / Star-Bulletin Index is a price-weighted index designed to measure the performance of Hawaii-based companies. The index was developed with a base value of 100 as of December 31, 1999. A chart of the index which shows the weekly performance of its members is published weekly in the Honolulu Star-Bulletin.
