Friday
Paula Fuga
7 p.m. at Kona Brewing Co.
Call 394-5662.
Start off your weekend with the nahenahe sound of
Paula Fuga (below) at Kona Brewing Co. in Hawaii Kai.
The 1996 Kailua High graduate is probably best recognized for her audition on "American Idol," but she's been working hard on a solo album and performing regularly with the band Dubkonscious. Mike Love will join her during the set.
Can't make it early? Check out Fuga later that night at Bliss, or catch her at next month's Kokua Festival - if you have a ticket.
Saturday
T Pain
8 p.m. at Pipeline Cafe.
Call 589-1999.
First he was sprung, then professed his love for a stripper. Tallahassee, Fla.-based crooner T Pain arrives this weekend for an 18-and-over show at Pipeline Cafe.
Formerly a member of rap group Nappy Headz, T Pain turned to singing after recording a remix of Akon's "Locked Up." When Akon heard the track, he began working with T Pain on his solo debut, "Rappa Ternt Sanga," which was released in December.
