Third man held in MySpace sex liaison
Honolulu police arrested a third man who allegedly solicited sex with a teenager through the MySpace.com Web site over the weekend.
The man, in his late 20s, turned himself in to police at the department's headquarters at 801 S. Beretania St. on Sunday. He was arrested for investigation of two counts of first-degree sexual assault, five counts of third-degree sexual assault, and one count of electronic enticement of a minor.
Police said the girl, a 15- to 16-year-old Kaimuki High School student, was contacted by the suspect via her MySpace Web site profile. The suspect also had a MySpace profile on which he presented himself also as a teenager, police said.
Police said the two met face-to-face and consented to sex and went to the girl's home. The girl's mother caught them and called police.
This is the third time within the last several weeks that police have arrested a man for allegedly soliciting sex with a minor through the MySpace Web site.
In one case, 33-year-old Kelvin O'Neal Ford was charged with three counts of first-degree sexual assault and three counts of third-degree sexual assault involving a 15-year-old Aliamanu girl.
The other case involved 30-year-old Joseph Colasacco, who was charged with five counts of first-degree sexual assault, four counts of promoting pornography for minors, three counts of first-degree electronic enticement of a minor and one count of third-degree sexual assault involving a 14-year-old Waialae boy. His bail was set at $20,000.
