It All Happened Friday Night

REACH OUT AND TOUCH: Fernando, single-monikered leader of Pimpbot, reached out to the crowd as the group capped its fifth-anniversary "Necktie Party" with a high-energy alcohol-fueled 90-minute set at the Wave Waikiki. Fernando was wearing an orange shirt and black Pimpbot necktie when the show started. By the time it was over he had removed his shirt, tie and T-shirt, and almost lost his pants.

"FOUR-OH" AT THE 0 LOUNGE: Kevin Watanabe, left, didn't let a recent arm injury spoil the party as he celebrated his 40th birthday with Shayne Sesoko, center, and Kaliko Ah Yat.

SHE'S BACK: Toby Sakoda, left, Donna Chun and Kyle Mitsumori were fashionably on time for Kevin Watanabe's party. Chun just got back from a Mexican cruise sponsored by a local radio station and says the best thing about it was getting off the ship.

TYING ONE ON: Guitarist Erica Aloang of Missing Dave playfully modeled one of the Pimpbot neckties that her group's drummer, Josie Cristobal, made to commemorate Pimpbot's anniversary.

ANOTHER HOKU FOR GINAI?: Ginai, left, welcomed Owana Salazar to the CD release party for her new album, "Jazz Island," at the Hanohano Room. Ginai won a Hoku Award with Hula Joe & The Hutjumpers in 2000. Salazar's "Hula Jazz" album won the "Best Jazz Album" Hoku in 2005.

STARR'S OUT TONIGHT: Starr Kalahiki, center, enjoyed Ginai's party with Marlene Baldueza and Anela Kahiamoe.
