COMING UP
Joy of travel
This Sunday in the Star-Bulletin Travel section, we'll be introducing new columnist Joy Uyeno.
The frequent traveler will tell how she manages to save up and find educational opportunities and affordable air fare in "Hit the Road," geared toward the young or beginning traveler.
Some of the advice will be useful to any traveler, including issues of romance on the road and safety in foreign countries.
Her column will appear the second Sunday each month in the Travel section.
HOME & GARDEN
StyleIn workshop goes green for environment
With St. Patrick's Day around the corner, Pacific Home presents "Live Green," its StyleIn workshop for March, featuring Jason Selley of Architects-Hawaii.
Selley will share information on sustainable, environment-friendly products, where to find them, how they can be used in remodeling and building, and the tax benefits of living a "green" lifestyle.
The 5:30-7 p.m. workshop Wednesday will be held on the first day of business at Pacific Home's new spot at 420 Ward Ave.
Besides monthly StyleIns, Pacific Home now offers a "One Room" design program in which a consultant will visit your home to assess the design needs of a room.
New hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sundays.
