Tati is moving to San Diego
ANOTHER local radio jock is making the jump across the Pacific Ocean -- Island 98.5's
Tati Pelegreen leaves this month for San Diego to join the on-air staff at XHTZ-FM.
"It's almost surreal for me," she said last week. "They flew me up ... I stayed a whole week, they drew up a contract, and I signed it."
Pelegreen's last day on Honolulu's airwaves will be March 15. The next day, she'll board a plane and immediately go to work as co-host on the Z90.3 morning show.
"I'm the girl of the show," she said. "The guy, his name is Chino. He's the lead guy ... and there's a mixer who mixes at 6 and 9 a.m."
Pelegreen's young son and boyfriend of eight months are also making the move. The two won't leave Hawaii until summer, however, due to school and work commitments.

"When someone leaves radio here, there's two kinds of happiness," she said. "You're happy for your co-worker, and there's a job opening!" ...

I've been a casual fan of University of Hawaii baseball for years, ever since small-kid time. It's also been nice to see more college students coming out the past few seasons.
But what's up with the increased HPD presence at the games? One of the things that makes attending a game enjoyable is being able to cheer for your team.
It was disappointing to see an officer hovering over one section where a group of students was screaming and yelling. When I started to cheer along with them, the same officer came and stood directly behind my seat. Auwe ...
AFTER GIVING it a try as a supper club, Deep Blue held its re-grand opening on Friday. It's now billed as a nightclub, although not much has changed. The blue lighting scheme remains, and a few couches have been added. DJ Spoo-K is the new resident DJ on Fridays ... It didn't take long for Ryan Chang to rebound from Venus Lounge. He's now co-promoting "Spice Lounge" on Fridays at E&O Trading Company with Partymasters Hawaii ... Rick Rock has relaunched his "Sinsation Saturdays" weekly, which takes the place of "Refresh" at Brew Moon ... Congrats to local boy Brian Ching, who appears in the March issue of Maxim ...
