Farrington High School Band members Catherine Trono, Richmond Tavai and Justin Macadangdang played during the 70/30 Legacy Festival, held Saturday at their school. The festival celebrated the school's 70th anniversary along with the 30th anniversary of the Farrington Alumni and Community Foundation. Alumni, students, friends and family joined the event, which featured live entertainment, food vendors and presentations from the school's various clubs.

Many local musicians attended a baby shower yesterday at the Royal Hawaiian Hotel for entertainer Amy Hanaialii Gilliom. Gilliom and her husband, John Austin, laughed while listening to a phone call from fellow entertainer Carol Channing, who called from the mainland during the event. Holding the phone was Jeff Apaka.

Dr. Chris Yamada, left, performed a dental screening on Kendall Funasaki, 3, yesterday as her mother, Kimberly, middle, watched at the second annual Hawaii Dental Service Tooth Fairy Fun Day at the Children's Discovery Center in Kakaako yesterday morning. The event helps both children and their parents to be more aware of dental health and hygiene.
