The Honolulu Academy of Arts presents its monthly "ARTafterDARK" party, designed to attract a younger crowd to the museum.
Recording artist O-Shen will entertain, and there will be a variety of South Pacific dance performances courtesy of Te Vai Ura Nui. Zip tours of the current exhibition, "Life in the Pacific of the 1700s," will also be available. See story on Page 6.

Legendary New York house DJ Francois K, who has spun records in nightclubs since the '70's, arrives in town for a special guest set at thirtyninehotel.
After stints as resident DJ at the Paradise Garage and the ShelterNYC, Francois is now a regular at "Deep Space," a trendy party hosted at a club called Cielo. Expect a mix of everything from techno and disco to hip-hop and reggae.
Thursday
"First Thursdays," 8:30 p.m. at the Hawaiian Hut. Tickets: $5. Call 387-9664.
Kick off the new month with slam poet Kealoha, as he hosts another installment of "First Thursdays" at the Hawaiian Hut. This month's featured guests are Christa Bell and Scott Huckabay.
Bell is from Seattle, and finished third at the 2005 National Poetry Slam. Huckabay plays acoustic guitar, and will perform a "teaser set" in advance of his concert with Makana at Ong King on March 3.
