ENTER TO WIN!
City seeks Lei Day queen
If you are a woman between 18 and 30, you could be the queen of May. All it takes is some lei-making and hula ability and a good quantity of aloha spirit.
The city is on the hunt for the 2006 Lei Queen. The deadline to apply is Friday (extended from the 15th in an attempt to attract more potential queens).
The winner will take the place of Flo Ku'uleilani Fernandez and reign over one of the largest first-of-May festivities ever, in celebration of Honolulu's Centennial.
Download an application at www.co.honolulu.hi.us/parks/programs/final+lei+queen+application+packet+06.pdf. Or call 692-5850.
The Lei Queen Competition will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at McCoy Pavilion at Ala Moana Beach Park.
