Manuma's blasts help Wahine beat Utah
Freshman Malamaisaua Manuma hit her first two career home runs, leading Hawaii to a 5-4 victory over Utah in eight innings at the UNLV Rebel Classic in Las Vegas. Audrey Andrade, another freshman, also homered for UH. Justine Smethurst got the pitching win.
Hawaii is 6-4.
New Mexico beat UH 7-2 in a later game.
» Ninth-ranked San Francisco State beat Hawaii-Hilo 6-4 at the Schutt Sports Division II Leadoff Classic in Phoenix, Ariz., despite a home run by the Vulcans' Brittany Dock.
Terry wins Gatorade soccer award
Goalkeeper Matt Terry of Saint Louis School is the Gatorade state player of the year for boys soccer.
At the time of his selection, the senior co-captain had a 1.7 goals-against average seven matches into the season.
Viloria card available at sports bars, on cable
Light flyweight WBC champion Brian Viloria's first title defense will be shown live at several sports bars throughout the state tonight; they include Eastside Bar & Grill (Honolulu), Sports Page (Kihei) and Uncle Mikey's (Hilo).
Viloria (18-0, 12 knockouts), of Waipahu, fights Jose Antonio Aguirre (33-4-1, 20 KOs) from Tabasco, Mexico.
The card begins at 4 p.m. and $15 will be charged at the door.

Hawaiian Warriors host mainland team tonight
The Hawaiian Warriors semi-pro football team plays a minor-league all-star team tonight in Volcano Bowl VII.
The game is at Moanalua High School and kicks off at 7 p.m.
Adults and children over 12 will be charged $5 to defray game expenses.
