Outrigger Enterprises executives and the 250-plus workers who have toiled on the beginning phase of the company's $460 million Waikiki Beach Walk redevelopment gathered yesterday to hoist the final beam of the main structure into place. The 7.9-acre project, which is the largest private development undertaken in Waikiki, is meant to transform Lewers Street from an aging tourist corridor into a premiere leisure destination. Five hotels and two smaller apartment hotel buildings are making way for a new, low-rise, 90,000-square-foot retail entertainment complex and new hotels.
