Ex-Rehab Hospital patient Irish happy to serve on board

Mike Irish was recruited by UH assistant football coach
Larry Price. During a scrimmage before the season opened, Mike drove into a player's chest with his helmet -- it was legal in those days but not any more. Mike went down after the play and could not move his legs or arms. He had broken his neck and was told by doctors would never walk again and he should prepare to live his life as a quadriplegic. The tough 18-year-old would not accept that. After four months of intensive treatment at Rehab Hospital, Mike walked out of the hospital's doors. Chefs Wong and Choy are going cruising
Alan Wong and
Sam Choy, two of Hawaii's best-known chefs, will be among a number of master chefs preparing special dishes and giving cooking demonstrations on Crystal Cruise ships during the line's 10th Wine and Food Festival. Alan will be aboard the Crystal Serenity for 10 days, starting May 5, on a cruise from England to Western Europe and back. It will be his third cruise with the line.
