Ex-Rehab Hospital patient Irish happy to serve on board

. During a scrimmage before the season opened, Mike drove into a player's chest with his helmet -- it was legal in those days but not any more. Mike went down after the play and could not move his legs or arms. He had broken his neck and was told by doctors would never walk again and he should prepare to live his life as a quadriplegic. The tough 18-year-old would not accept that. After four months of intensive treatment at Rehab Hospital, Mike walked out of the hospital's doors. Wednesday, the businessman was getting ready to play racquetball when we spoke on the phone about him being named to the Rehab Hospital Foundation Board.
