Chargers headed to OIA playoffs
Travis Cruz scored a game-high 17 points as Pearl City defeated Waianae 46-33 last night, clinching the Oahu Interscholastic Association Western Division's last berth in the OIA playoffs beginning next week.
Cruz nailed both of his 3-pointers in the second quarter as the Chargers took a 25-18 halftime lead. Waianae's Junior Faliuga had six of his team-high 12 points in the third quarter, but it wasn't enough as Waianae finished its season at 2-8.
Rollie Salvacion and Kawika Borden added eight points for the Chargers.
