Kapela captures Pipeline Bodysurfing Classic
Steve Kapela beat out defending champion Todd Sells, Mike Stewart and Mark Cunningham in 6-to-8-foot surf to take the Patagonia Pipeline Bodysurfing Classic at Ehukai Beach on Wednesday.
Kapela, a 43-year-old Kailua resident, previously finished in the top six twice in the last four years.
Delasin to host junior clinic at Turtle Bay
LPGA Tour golfer Dorothy Delasin is hosting a junior golf clinic, with a nine-hole tournament to follow, at Turtle Bay Resort on Feb. 11 from 1-2:30 p.m.
Aside from golf instruction, Delasin will hold a question and answer period for juniors and their parents. She will also sign autographs. For more information, call Matthew Hall at 293-8574.
Deaf golf camp coming to Hawaii
The United States Deaf Golf Camps is coming to Ko'olau Golf Club in Kaneohe, Feb. 13-14, from 8:30 to 2 p.m. each day.
The camp is taught in sign language and the lead instructor is touring pro Rob Strano.

NFL players at Pearl Harbor for Super Bowl
Atlanta Falcons cornerback DeAngelo Hall and Tampa Bay Buccaneers punter Josh Bidwell will watch Sunday's Super Bowl aboard the Pearl Harbor-based guided missile cruiser USS Chosin.
The NFL players' visit will include a tour of the Chosin, followed by lunch with the crew.
The Chosin returned from a six-month deployment last month.
Nissan Xterra televised on CBS on Sunday
The Nissan Xterra World Championship, an off-road triathlon held annually on Maui, will be the focus of a 1-hour CBS Sports Spectacular television broadcast on Sunday at 7 a.m. Hawaii time.
The race was held Oct. 23. The show tracks professional and amateur athletes in their quest for the world title in the race, which includes a 1-mile ocean swim, a 20-mile mountain bike ride and a 7-mile trail run.
