Boat parade to celebrate Lyman's life
Honolulu boat pilots will conduct a boat parade at 10 a.m. Feb. 11 in memory of David Belden Kua'ana Lyman III, who was killed in a fall Sunday while climbing down from a cruise ship in Nawiliwili Harbor on Kauai.
Space is limited to people who can make arrangements to ride on a vessel. Vessels will leave Pier 2 at 10 a.m. and go to the pilot station south of the Hotel Buoy.
All owners of participating vessels must send the vessel name and owner's name by 6 p.m. Thursday by e-mail to edgin16@hawaii.rr.com
After the scattering of ashes, a celebration of Lyman's life will be at Murphy's Bar & Grill at Nuuanu and Merchant streets.
Lyman is survived by wife Lori Ikehara-Lyman, son Belden, daughters Rebekka and Danielle, brothers Kimo and Daniel, and sister Marion Lyman-Mersereau.
Services will be at 5 p.m. Monday at Central Union Church. Casual attire. In lieu of flowers, donations suggested to Captain David Lyman Maritime Scholarship Fund, c/o Lyle Holden, P.O. Box 4673, Honolulu 96812.
