Mules move on in playoffs

Daniel Phelps scored both Mule goals as Leilehua beat Roosevelt 2-1 in the first round of the OIA boys soccer tournament. The Mules (7-2-1) take on Kalaheo (7-0-3) today.

Alex Fowler had the lone goal for the Rough Riders (5-6-0).

Tied at 1-1 after two overtimes, the Falcons (7-2-2) eventually defeated Na Alii (4-5-1) on penalty kicks, 5-4.

The Falcons, the fourth seed out of the East, move on to play the West's first seed Kapolei (9-0-0) in the quarterfinals today.

Kaiser 5, Waialua 0

Five different players knocked in goals as the Cougars (8-1-2) crushed the Bulldogs (4-5-1) to advance into the quarterfinals, where they'll face Mililani (7-1-1).

Pearl City 3, Castle 0

Ikaika Makue put in two goals as the Chargers (7-2-1) blanked the Knights (5-3-3).

The fourth-seeded Chargers face No. 1 Moanalua (8-1-1) in the quarterfinals.
