Doane adding chairman to list of duties at A&B
Allen Doane, president and chief executive of Alexander & Baldwin Inc., will take on the additional title of chairman of the board when current chairman Charles Stockholm retires, A&B announced.
In addition, board member Walter Dods Jr., chairman of BancWest Corp., has been appointed lead independent director. Both moves take effect at this year’s annual shareholders meeting on April 27.
Stockholm, who will turn 73 in early February, has been nonexecutive chairman of A&B since 1999 and served as a director since 1972. He is managing director of Trust Company of the West.
Doane, 58, was named president and CEO of A&B in October 1998. He joined the company in 1991 as executive vice president and chief operating officer of A&B-Hawaii Inc., at the time A&B’s property management and development and food products subsidiary.
