HPU cheerleaders earn national title
The Hawaii Pacific cheerleaders' all-female stunt team won the national title at the Universal Cheerleaders Association college championships in Orlando, Fla., last weekend.
The Sea Warriors' squad is made up of Amber Lefler, Bridget Hall, Nicole Latham, Lauren Muckleroy.
Hawaii Pacific's partner stunt team of Michael Brewster and Chelsea Ross placed eighth overall.
Matthew Parkey coached both teams.
Hawaii tennis teams lose to Stanford
Both of Hawaii's tennis teams lost to Stanford in California yesterday.
The Cardinal beat the Rainbow Warriors 6-1, and the defending national champion and top-ranked Cardinal women's team beat the Rainbow Wahine 7-0.
Ryan Sceats was UH's only singles winner via a 1-6, 7-6, 1-0 (9) super tie-breaker victory over Stanford's Blake Muller,
The Rainbow Warriors got a doubles victory from Bryon Weinberg and Jeff Fitch, who topped the Cardinal's Jon Wong and Muller, but they didn't earn a point for it.
