» Sharon's Ride, a bike/run/walk fundraiser, takes place Jan. 29 at Kapiolani Community College. Participants may choose a 10-, 40- or 100-kilometer ride along the southeastern coast or a 5K run into Diamond Head. To register, call 528-3058.
Dining for dollars
Restaurants across Oahu will donate a part of their proceeds on March 1 to the Life Foundation through the annual fundraiser Oahu Dines.
The foundation, Hawaii's largest AIDS organization, is signing up restaurants willing to participate. The aim is to raise $25,000 to support programs for HIV-positive individuals and for prevention efforts. Last year, $10,000 was raised with the help of 18 restaurants.
Already signed this year are Boots and Kimo's, Tiki's Grill and Bar, Big City Diner, El Charro II Mexican Seafood, Chai's Island Bistro, le Guignol Restaurant, and the Wedding Café.
Restaurants interested in signing up may call Cathy Pudwill, 521-2437, ext. 250 or e-mail email@example.com.
Updates on participating restaurants will be posted at www.oahudines.org.
