SUNDAY
Don Ho returns to Waikiki Beachcomber
He's back. You just can't keep a good man down. Don Ho takes the stage again Sunday night in Waikiki.
Ho's been out of action, undergoing an experimental procedure to kick-start his ticker. (Expect some an official medical update in a month or so.) In the meantime, "Let's see if I can last an hour or so," said Ho. "I think that's enough to get through, yeah?"
He really is taking it easy. The show will resume only on Sundays for now.
"But you gotta stay sharp," said Ho. "The lights aren't off. Doing a Waikiki show is old hat for me, an everyday kind of thing, but you gotta stay in practice.
"You know my show. It's whatever happens, happens. Go with the flow. I got a bunch of great young kids to help me out."
Will it be a problem standing for so long?
"Are you kidding? I could hardly stand up when I was healthy."
So -- how does it feel to be back on stage?
"Great. But what I really want back is my sex life."
