Smylie leads Brigham Young-Hawaii on road
Senior forward Austin Smylie hit 13 of 14 field-goal attempts and finished with 29 points to lead Brigham Young-Hawaii to a 75-64 victory over Notre Dame de Namur in a nonconference men's basketball game last night in Belmont, Calif.
Sophomore guard Danny Jackson added 12 points for the Seasiders (7-5), who shot 64 percent from the floor. Stephen Chang led the Argos (4-12) with 15 points.
» Justin Griffin scored 23 points and hit all 10 of his free-throw attempts to lead Hawaii-Hilo to an 81-78 overtime victory over Hawaii Pacific at Mid-Pacific gym.
The Vulcans (11-4, 1-1 PacWest) also got 18 points from Justin Dobson. Adam Reinking led the Sea Warriors (3-13, 0-3) with 17 points.
Hawaii women's swim team takes 2 of 3
The Hawaii women's swimming and diving team won two of its three dual meets, and the UH men split two meets at the Duke Kahanamoku Aquatic Complex yesterday.
The Rainbow Wahine defeated San Diego State 124-98 and Connecticut 119-102, before losing to Drury 114-108.
The Rainbow Warriors men's team beat Connecticut 65-48, then fell to Drury 83-29.
