Chaminade topples Hawaii Pacific
Chris Reaves scored 21 points and had 11 assists and eight rebounds to lead Chaminade past Hawaii Pacific 86-73 in a Pacific West Conference basketball game last night at McCabe Gym.
Dylan McCune and Chris Nelson scored 16 points apiece for the Silverswords (10-4, 3-0 PacWest).
Donnell Dobbins scored 27 points for the Sea Warriors (3-12, 0-2).
Hawaii athletes earn academic honors
Seven student-athletes from Hawaii have been recognized on the Academic All-Northwest Conference honor roll for the fall semester.
They are: Kelly Higa (Iolani), of the Puget Sound cross-country team; Michelle Lee (Mililani) of the Pacific cross-country team; Brent Murakami (Mililani) of the Whitworth soccer team; James Shon (University) of the Whitman soccer team; John Chang (Iolani), of the Willamette soccer team; Erin Nakasone (Mililani) of the Whitworth women's soccer team; and Kelsey Harrity (Konawaena), of the Lewis & Clark women's soccer team.
To be eligible for Academic All-Northwest Conference teams, student-athletes must maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher and have participated in at least one competition for their team.
Wahine volleyball banquet set
The Rainbow Wahine volleyball banquet is scheduled for Jan. 29 at the Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort.
The cost is $40 per person or $400 for a table of 10.
The deadline is Jan. 21. After that, the cost increases to $50.
