UH's Wang, Wiktorsson capture 2 events each
University of Hawaii divers Rui Wang and Mats Wiktorsson won two events apiece yesterday in the final day of the two-day Hawaii Diving Invitational at the Duke Kahanamoku Aquatics Complex.
Wang won the 3-meter springboard and platform events. Wiktorsson placed first in the 1-meter springboard and platform.
Wiktorrson won the 3-meter springboard on Saturday.
Hawaii's QiongJie Huang, who won the 1-meter springboard on Saturday, placed second to Wang in the 3-meter yesterday.
Connecticut, Wisconsin, Illinois, Drury (Mo.) and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (N.Y.) were among the participating schools.
» The UH men's swimming team lost two dual meets and the UH women's team lost one during a triangular meet on Friday.
The Hawaii men lost to Minnesota 99-47 and Wisconsin 106-53. The Hawaii women lost to Wisconsin 150-89.
Bartels surfs into semifinals in Florida
Hawaii's Melanie Bartels won her first-round and quarterfinal heats yesterday to advance to the semifinals of the Gallaz Women's Pro surf contest at Sebastian Inlet, Fla.
The semifinals are slated for tomorrow.
In the men's Globe Pro, also at Sebastian Inlet, the round of 96 is scheduled for today, with many Hawaii surfers still in the hunt.
Scott Simpson to hold free golf clinic at Ko Olina
Pro golfer Scott Simpson will hold a free golf clinic at Ko Olina Golf Club's practice range next Monday from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.
The 1987 U.S. Open Champion, Simpson won seven times on the PGA Tour and is now on the Champions Tour.

Ala Moana tennis entry deadline is Friday
Entries close Friday for the Ala Moana Seniors Men and Women Singles and Doubles Ages 30-90 to be played at Diamond Head Tennis Center, Jan. 20-22.
The entry fee is $3.50 for singles and $5 per doubles team.
