Local brews in the air
Island Air has switched from serving domestic beer to only Hawaii-made beer on all flights.
On tap now are Mehana Mauna Kea Pale Ale and Keoki Gold beer, giving passengers a unique experience as well as providing an opportunity for Hawaii's breweries to showcase their creations.
Mehana Mauna Pale Ale is an American pale ale dry-hopped for a minimum of 25 days, resulting in a a medium copper beer with a touch of floral aroma and citrus flavor. It is brewed at Mehana Brewing Co., Hilo's only craft brewery.
Keoki Gold beer, a medium-bodied pale golden beer, is brewed on the Garden Island of Kauai by Keoki Brewing Co.
Both beers are available on all Island Air flights for $3 a bottle.
