Vulcans sign Washington player of the year
Hawaii-Hilo coach Jeff Law announced yesterday the signing of former Washington state player of the year Justin Holt, a catch Law is calling a big one.
"He's potentially one of the better players that the school and conference has seen," Law said. "At 6-foot-7, he's got a lot of ability on the floor."
At Lincoln High School in Tacoma, Holt led the Abes to two straight 4A state championships. After his senior season in 2002 he was named Washington's top player by the Seattle Times and Associated Press.
» Chris Reeves scored 23 points and four others were in double figures as Chaminade beat Brigham Young-Hawaii 97-83 last night in Laie.
Paul Peterson led the Seasiders with 22 points.
