Roadwork projects break for holidays
No lane closures are planned aside from several sites
A holiday break for roadwork on freeways and highways continues, except on Monday when one lane of the H-1 freeway westbound near the Kalihi interchange will be closed between 9 a.m. and noon for emergency repair.
There will also be a few road closures in Pearl City related to the freeway widening project. The outer lanes of Kaahele Street will remain closed for repairs 24 hours a day through the holiday season.
Crews are installing columns for the widened freeway on Kaahele Street and might also need to intermittently close the makai-bound right lane between 8:30 a.m. and 6 p.m.
Lane closures could also be needed along Puuloa Road near Mokumoa Street for repair on a gas line.
The state normally stops major roadwork for two weeks at the end of December, except for emergency repairs, to ease holiday shopping traffic.
