Fans giving up want UH to wake up

» "Your column in the Sunday SB was right on target. JJ and company have clearly lost a lot of the community. As a result, many fans look at the UH as they would a professional team. If the team wins, they will come out; if not, empty seats. There is not that sense of supporting your college team through thick and thin that keeps crowds reasonable even in down years elsewhere. High school attendance exceeding the final game for UH seniors says it all."

» "I'm one of the baby boomers who have been a Rainbow Warrior fan for a long time, and only became a football season-ticket holder after June Jones was hired because I figured he was going to lead UH to a bigger and better place. Ha! As for renewing my season tickets for 2006, highly unlikely. Foremost is that I will not pay more money for tickets for a lesser product -- a much weaker WAC than prior years and next year's WAC home schedule? For next year I do plan to buy selected game tickets only, and even then, the nonconference games don't appear that great.

"As for being at the games, it has been getting to be somewhat of a bore. ... I always see the cheerleaders circling the stadium, but there are not many fans participating in cheering 'WAR-RIORS' if at all. Bring back the RainnnnnnnnBowwwwwww!

"Lastly, team uniforms? All black, once or twice a season is OK but not every home game. This year's away game uniform? Whose team is that anyway. Can't identify with the team anymore. Is green and white out of fashion or what? I don't know if many fans are fed up with these changes like I am, but all I know is that if Dodger Blue is not blue anymore, then I'm outta here."
