Reigning three-time ASP World Champion Andy Irons of Kauai suffered a massive wipeout yesterday en route to the quarterfinals of the O'Neill World Cup at Sunset Beach. Despite this dramatic scene, Irons kept himself in the running for a Triple Crown of Surfing title, placing second in his round of 32 heats to advance to the quarterfinals. See item in Sports.
