Waipahu resident Lee Kekua reacted after having 10 inches of her hair removed by cosmetology student Alana Balagia, left, during yesterday's "Locks of Love" benefit drive at Honolulu Community College's cosmetology department. Pictured in the reflection are fellow cosmetology students Candace DeSilve, left, Nicole St. Morris and Suzie Vogler. Students in the school of cosmetology cut and shaped the hair of customers who donated at least 10 inches to use in hairpieces for children who suffer from hair-loss conditions such as alopecia areata, for which there is no known cure.
