Gibson will miss Rainbows' next game
HAWAII GUARD Matt Gibson's suspension will last at least through the Rainbow Warriors' next game.
UH coach Riley Wallace said Gibson won't play when the Rainbows face UNLV next Tuesday in a rematch of last week's nonconference meeting in Las Vegas.
Gibson hasn't practiced with the team since being suspended indefinitely for "conduct detrimental to the team" last week and sat out UH's 82-64 win over Saint Louis on Saturday.
The 6-foot-5 junior started 21 games and led UH in scoring last season with 13 points per game. He was voted to the preseason All-Western Athletic Conference second team by the league's coaches.
He came off the bench in UH's first two games this season. He scored eight points in 23 minutes against Michigan State and scored one point in 9 minutes in UH's 67-61 loss at UNLV.
The Rainbows (2-1) will get a chance to avenge the loss when the Runnin' Rebels visit the Stan Sheriff Center on Tuesday in the second game of a nonconference home-and-home series. UH's subsequent game is Dec. 10 at Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
