Honolulu City and County workers were busy yesterday decorating the Christmas tree in front of Honolulu Hale. They included Mike Hall, whose image was reflected in a large Christmas ornament as he hung a garland on the tree.

Army Reserve soldiers belonging to the 793rd Engineer Detachment, a unit predominantly from American Samoa, arrived in Hawaii yesterday after nearly a year in Iraq. They will be taken to Schofield for two weeks of demobilization processing before returning to American Samoa for Christmas. Olita Tulafono, left, from American Samoa, was greeted in the baggage claim area at Honolulu Airport by her aunt Florence Faalepo, who lives in Kalihi.
