Star-Bulletin Index


The Bloomberg / Star-Bulletin Index is a price-weighted index designed to measure the performance of Hawaii-based companies. The index was developed with a base value of 100 as of December 31, 1999. A chart of the index which shows the weekly performance of its members is published weekly in the Honolulu Star-Bulletin.

Maui Pine lifts

Maui Land & Pineapple Co. jumped 21.8 percent to end the week at a 2 1/2-month high in leading the way in the Bloomberg Honolulu Star-Bulletin index. MLP closed yesterday at $34.10, its highest level since reaching $34.18 on Aug. 31.

Hawaiian Airlines' parent, which had fallen to a 52-week low of $2.30 on Sept. 28, continued rallying off that bottom and gained 6.5 percent to $3.60. Hawaiian Holdings Inc., though, is still down 47.3 percent for the year.

Barnwell Industries Inc. rose 2.3 percent to $26.45 after its 3-for-1 stock split went into effect on Tuesday. Barnwell is up 114 percent for the year.
