Kealakehe tops Keaau for title
Max Papalii and Gabe Tuata scored two touchdowns each as the Kealakehe Waveriders defeated the Keaau Cougars 35-6 last night in the Big Island Interscholastic Federation Division I championship game at Kealakehe.
Papalii and Tuata scored a touchdown each in the first and second quarters as Kealakehe took a 28-0 lead into halftime.
Tuata struck first with 4:41 left in the first quarter on his 12-yard run. Papalii scored on a 38-yard run 3 minutes later.
Jordan Gacayan added a touchdown in the third quarter for Kealakehe, running in from 10 yards out to give the Waveriders a 35-0 lead.
Jobe Leialoha scored Keaau's only touchdown on his 4-yard run with less than 8 minutes left in the game.
