Star-Bulletin Index


The Bloomberg / Star-Bulletin Index is a price-weighted index designed to measure the performance of Hawaii-based companies. The index was developed with a base value of 100 as of December 31, 1999. A chart of the index which shows the weekly performance of its members is published weekly in the Honolulu Star-Bulletin.

HAL rises 28%

Hawaiian Airlines' parent, which posted a $7.8 million profit in the third quarter, soared 28 percent this week to fly above 10 other stocks in the Bloomberg Honolulu Star-Bulletin index. Hawaiian Holdings Inc. ended yesterday at $3.38.

Central Pacific Financial Corp. had the second-best performance as it gained 5 percent to a nine-month high of $37.76.

ML Macadamia Orchards LP was next with a 2.9 percent gain to $6.09 while Maui Land & Pineapple Co. was close behind with a 2.8 percent advance to $28.
