Biz plans sought for Wailuku shuttle
The Maui County Business Resource Center is holding the "I Think I Can" Business Plan Contest.
Participants are asked to submit a business plan that will help revitalize Wailuku Town using a 14-passenger bus. The winner will receive operating funds for the first three months. The contest is sponsored by Market Street Shuttle LLC.
Entries are due by Dec. 31.
A question-and-answer session will be held at the business resource center at the Maui Mall from 9 to 11 a.m. on Nov. 28. For more information, call 873-8247 or visit www.mcbrc.org.
Hawaiian Air's planes 90.5% full
Hawaiian Airlines' passenger load increased 10.6 percent last month, when its planes were 90.5 percent full.
The company also said its revenue passenger miles, or miles flown by paying passengers, increased 12.9 percent in the month. Hawaiian Airlines emerged from a long Chapter 11 bankruptcy earlier this year.
HEI to pay dividend on Dec. 12
Hawaiian Electric Industries Inc. will pay its next quarterly dividend Dec. 12 to shareholders as of Nov. 21.
The company is maintaining the dividend at 31 cents a share, yielding 4.8 percent, and says it will keep the dividend at that level for the foreseeable future.

Leslie Hylkema has been promoted to sales director. She will be responsible for generating group business from the West Coast for three of the company's resorts.
Denise Anderson has been appointed sales director for luxury, leisure and corporate travel. She will be responsible for overseeing the leisure and corporate sales staff.
Toshie Nakabayashi has been appointed wholesale travel sales director. She will be responsible for managing the wholesale sales staff for the domestic and Asia Pacific wholesale markets.
