» Dr. Dre did not visit the O Lounge's "Be Social Fridays," although his friends did attend the event. A caption on Page D5 yesterday incorrectly said he was there.
» The state Legislature approved versions of numerous proposals made by the 1997 Economic Recovery Task Force appointed by then-Gov. Ben Cayetano. Those included lowering the state income tax's top rate, dedicating part of the hotel room tax to tourism promotion, creating the Hawaii Tourism Authority and putting time limits on permit reviews. An editorial on Page F6 Sunday pointed out that the Legislature rejected the task force's recommendation to increase the general excise tax and to empower the governor to appoint county school boards. The editorial wrongly concluded that the task force's recommendations were soundly rejected by the Legislature.
