Dessert Fantasy 2005, held yesterday at the Pacific Beach Hotel, featured 55 vendors serving 68 desserts to more than 500 attendees. Proceeds went to the United Cerebral Palsy Association of Hawaii. Cari Maruyama received a glass filled with buttermilk Panna Cotta topped with Bananas Foster. Paying participants and culinary experts cast votes on their favorite table of desserts. "One year, malasadas won," said Donna Fouts, UCPA executive director. This year, the Pacific Beach Hotel's Panna Cotta won the Professional's Choice Award, and Matter of Taste's Apple Crisp won the People's Choice Award.
