Kaimuki, line by line
FL Morris is a news photographer by profession, but art photography is his hobby. He possesses a unique ability to take what would be a run-of-the-mill shot and turn it into something smart and dynamic.
Here, he takes a fresh look at an old town, capturing everyday street scenes as a collection of angles and lines.
"One word comes to mind when I think of Kaimuki: relaxed," Morris says.
"It's such a great place to browse, with its coffee shops, boutiques, mom-and-pop businesses, restaurants. No big-box retailer or shopping mall. Kaimuki is one of the places in Honolulu that still retains a flavor of the past with simple but pleasing architecture."
