Ticket sales delayed
Tickets for Mariah Carey's Dec. 10 and 12 concerts at the Stan Sheriff Center will go on sale Sunday, eight days later than planned.
Ticket sales were to have begun Saturday, but promoter Bob Peyton said the delay was necessary to reconfigure seating to accommodate Carey's new "in the round" performance format.
Tickets are $75, $125 and $150 and go on sale at 9 a.m. at the Stan Sheriff box office on the University of Hawaii-Manoa campus (956-4482). No line-ups until 6 a.m. They will also be sold at Aloha Stadium, Rainbowtique at Ward Center, UH Campus Center and Windward Community College OCET office. Or visit etickethawaii.com. Olelo station to join national white-out
Olelo Community Television will join a nationwide "snowstorm," broadcasting one minute of video snow at 4 p.m. today to protest legislation before Congress that would cut funding for public-access stations.
Public, Educational and Governmental channels on cable systems throughout the country will simultaneously participate in the white-out to draw the attention of and viewers. Community channels in parts of Europe will also join in.
Olelo, channel 52 on Oahu, offers programming typical of PEG stations -- local political debates, high School sports, legislative meetings, distance learning programs and community-issue discussions
