Dr. Jonathan Flowers and Dr. Robert Flowers, a father and son team, performed surgery on a stuffed turtle as its owner, Tyler Jong, 3, stood by during the Teddy Bear Clinic and Country Fair held by the First Presbyterian Church in Makiki yesterday. "This poor little turtle. He had a hole in his side and lost his body," said Dr. Robert Flowers, a plastic surgeon at the Queen's Medical Center. The Flowers team matched and replaced the tissue and stitched up the stuffed animal which was torn apart during a melee in the Jong family's home. "The prognosis is good," said Flowers who added, "Operating on real people is a piece of cake compared to doing surgery on this turtle here."
