Star-Bulletin Index


The Bloomberg / Star-Bulletin Index is a price-weighted index designed to measure the performance of Hawaii-based companies. The index was developed with a base value of 100 as of December 31, 1999. A chart of the index which shows the weekly performance of its members is published weekly in the Honolulu Star-Bulletin.

Central Pacific lifts

Central Pacific Bank's parent, whose third-quarter earnings jumped 119 percent from a year earlier after buying City Bank, gained 3.2 percent this week to highlight the performance of local stocks in the Bloomberg Honolulu Star-Bulletin index. Central Pacific Financial Corp. closed yesterday at $35.59.

Alexander & Baldwin Inc., whose net income rose 43 percent, saw its shares rise 2.7 percent to $47.71 while Bank of Hawaii Corp., which posted a 4 percent rise in earnings, had its stock edge up 1.3 percent.
