Breast cancer survivors and medical specialists are profiled on tonight's "On Board for the Cure," a KHON special targeting breast-cancer awareness.
KHON's Tannya Joaquin and Trini Kaopuiki host the hourlong show that includes a kumu hula, a canoe paddler, a reverend, a surfer and more. Their ways of dealing with their breast cancer run from traditional chemotherapy, to faith and spiritual healing, to pre-emptive mastectomy to alternative treatments such as acupuncture and healing touch.
The show airs at 7 p.m. and will be rebroadcast at 5 p.m. Saturday.
Tiare Agpaoa paddled all the time she was receiving chemotherapy.
