TSP plans 5 Hawaii projects

The U.K.'s Picture Players Production has completed its six-day Honolulu filming for the documentary on one-time Hawaii resident Mark David Chapman, who murdered John Lennon in New York City 25 years ago. Titles being considered: "The Killing," and "The Killing of John Lennon." Budget was less than $500,000. The director was Andrew Piddington, who was here with five British crew. The production shot two days at LaMariana Restaurant & Bar on Sand Island and four days in an apartment at Kukui Plaza where Chapman had lived.
Two local female actors were used to play Chapman's mother and a girlfriend, and a mainland actor was here to portray Chapman. The production hopes to have the doc ready for the Sundance Film Festival in January ...
