"The Gospel": A hit R&B singer returns to his ailing father's church and is inspired to turn the once-powerful congregation around through music. (PG)
"In Her Shoes": After a fun-loving and hard-living woman (Cameron Diaz) is kicked out by her older, more responsible sister (Toni Collette), she seeks out her long-absent grandmother (Shirley MacLaine). Based on the summer 2002 hit novel by Jennifer Weiner. (PG-13)
"Two for the Money": This sobering drama follows Matthew McConaughey as a former college football star enlisted by a big-time New York bookie (Al Pacino) for his high-rolling gambling operation. Rene Russo, Armand Assante and Jeremy Piven co-star. (R)
"Waiting ...": Ryan Reynolds leads a rebellious wait staff at a chain restaurant who deal with rude customers in even ruder ways. Writer-director Rob McKittrick based the script on his own experience waiting tables at a central Florida T.G.I. Friday's. Anna Faris of "Scary Movie" fame, Wendie Malick and Justin Long co-star. (R)
"Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit": Englishman Nick Park's befuddled, cheese-loving inventor and his silent and very patient dog are back in a feature-length comedy. It's a sendup of old Universal horror flicks as the duo fight a fiendish mutant bunny who's ravaging the back-yard veggie patches of their local village. (G)
