3 Outrigger properties offer spooky ghost stories
Guests staying at one of three Outrigger Hawaii properties during the last week of October can experience "chicken skin" during "Spooky Tales," a fun evening of Hawaiian ghost stories and goose bump-raising tales presented by master island storytellers.
All three events will run from 6:30 to 8 p.m., with free admission. On Oahu, "Spooky Tales" will take place Oct. 24 at the Outrigger Waikiki on the Beach and Oct. 26 at the Outrigger Reef on the Beach.
The event will also take place Oct. 28 at the Outrigger Keauhou Beach Resort on the Big Island. Woody Fern, acknowledged as one of Hawaii's most accomplished storytellers, is the featured storyteller whose specialties include tales of Hawaiian alii (royalty) and island legends passed down through families.
Other master storytellers will share a variety of stories that have a connection to Hawaii, including some that draw from the islands' multicultural heritage. For reservations or information, call toll-free 800-OUTRIGGER (800-688-7444) within the United States, Guam and Canada. Elsewhere, call 303-369-7777; long-distance charges apply. Or, visit www.outrigger.com or e-mail reservations@outrigger.com.
